"I started volunteering in Lawrence Memorial Hospital’s gift shop 26 years ago. I guess I wanted to repay the hospital in some way for all it had done for me. Over the years, I met so many nice people that it became something I looked forward to more and more. A lot of wonderful people come through our doors. I’m proud to still volunteer in the gift shop two days a week. It’s good to help people — after all, the gift shop provides a kind of oasis for patients and families — it’s good to help the hospital, too." ............................................
