Seminar to focus on discussions about philanthropy

Financial and legal advisors play a key role in any community’s charitable organizations.

That’s why Lawrence Memorial Hospital Endowment Association is offering a seminar that will focus on the charitable conversation between these advisors and their clients. Two representatives from U.S. Trust/Bank of America Private Wealth Management will discuss a recent study that focused on what clients say they would like from their advisors and what advisors say they provide to their clients. Sometimes, the study found, there is a difference in the types of conversations the clients say they want and the ones they say they are having with advisors about charitable giving.

The seminar, “It’s Time to Have ‘The Talk’: Conversations about philanthropy between professionals and their clients can change communities,” is open to advisors and their clients, as well as anyone associated with non-profit organizations.

The event will begin at 4 p.m. Nov. 12 at Maceli’s, 1031 N.H. Light refreshments will be served. A $15 will be charged. And continuing legal education is available. Sponsors for the event are LMH Endowment, U.S. Trust/Bank of America Private Wealth Management, The Trust Company of Kansas, Douglas County Estate Planning Council and Central Trust Company.

To register, contact Caroline Trowbridge by 5 p.m. Nov. 4 at caroline.trowbridg@lmh.org or 785-505-3313.
