Please join us for LMH Endowment Association's annual meeting

The Lawrence Memorial Hospital Endowment Association will host its 48th annual meeting on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at the Cider Gallery, 810 Pennsylvania. The theme of the event is “On The Move.”

The event is open to the public. However, please let us know whether you can join us by sending an email or calling Tiffany Hall at 785-505-3318 by January 19.

Russell Johnson, in his first year as president and CEO, will discuss his vision for the future of Lawrence Memorial Hospital while celebrating its many successes.

"'On the Move’" is a perfect theme for this time in healthcare and at Lawrence Memorial Hospital,” Johnson says. “We are certainly ‘on the move’ and actively seeking partnerships with our colleague organizations, acquiring new technologies, and recruiting leading clinicians in order to improve healthcare right here in our community. There is a lot of common ground on which we can continue to improve health services, expand clinical programs available locally and work collaboratively with other community partners. I have already made good friends and colleagues across Lawrence and have a very optimistic view of the future.”

2016 LMHEA Board President Gary Sollars agrees.

“We are in for continued dramatic change in health care, and we're very fortunate to have been able to attract such a talented new leader in Russ Johnson," Sollars says. "We can also anticipate growing financial needs making the work of the LMH Endowment and our talented staff and volunteers more critical than ever.”

The Endowment Association will present the 9th annual Elizabeth Watkins Community Caring Awards to these key people and businesses that consistently have supported community healthcare with their time, talent and treasure:

Individuals: Cindy Sargent and Valentino Stella

Businesses: Briggs Auto of Lawrence, Great Plains Media and McDonald's of Lawrence Restaurants

LMH Associates: Liz Botkin and Liv Frost

Cindy Yulich, who chairs the LMH Board of Trustees, is pleased with the direction of LMH Endowment -- and the mission the organization serves in supporting the hospital.

“Lawrence is so blessed to have a community of caring people generous with their time, their talents and their treasure,” she says. “Supporters of Lawrence Memorial Hospital touch countless lives each year and enable us to do the important work required of a community hospital. Every member of the LMH family is committed to continuing our mission to help everyone in our community live healthier, happier lives.”
