Catch a Break

Catch a Break: Helping with the cost of survivorship. While many cancer-related foundations and organizations direct their attention to the very worthy efforts of prevention, screening, treatment, or research, the Catch a Break fund focuses on the survivor when they return home - extending a hand to the survivor who lost their job, drained their savings to help themselves or a family member, or is forced to choose between buying cancer medication and providing a holiday meal for their family.  Catch a Break funds go directly to survivors and their families. Your contributions will help with a little extra boost for medication or food -- or simply provide a gift of comfort or clothing.

Our Survivors

Catch a Break survivors are struggling patients who deserve a little relief and hope that other people really do care for them. They are referred to us by professional social workers, agencies and medical professionals. And we hear about them by word of mouth. They complete a simple application process to request support. With your help, these families can have a little break and a little hope.

Thank you for letting us catch a break and really have Christmas!"

"Just before the christmas holiday I learned that one of my cancer spots is growing again in my chest. With my disability money stretched to the limit just surviving I was looking at having a very grim holiday. I want to Thank both Cindy and everyone associated with Catch a Break for what they have done for me this year and especially this holiday season. The gift cards I recived helped me get to medical appointments with gas, get insulin, pain medication and blood thinners I need to survive and put some food on my table that other wise I could not have had. Thanks again for everything and the huge positive impact you make for people like me by helping me and others Catch a break. God bless you all and Happy Holidays."

"My granddaughter was so excited and happy with all her gifts and we had a great dinner. Thank you so much for making this a special christmas for me and to those who donated."

My family and I would like to say thanks so much for adopting us out for Christmas. The gifts went a long way in bringing cheer and hope around here. The grocery card was quite timely. We were able to purchase groceries that week with it. The pears were soooo delicious; please let Julie's company know that we really appreciated their thoughtfulness toward us. The girls liked the craft project and the tree was just fabulous. Thank you so much for doing this.”

“I luckily checked my work email and received your generous offer to adopt us as a family...WOW. I am touched, and what a wonderful start to the New Year! I did receive an email from someone at Office Max and I will get in contact with them. I don't know what else to say but thank you.”
