Reasons to Give
Lawrence Memorial Hospital Endowment Associations
primary purpose is to provide support and funding to Lawrence Memorial
Hospital through sources not available to the hospital itself. It
is important to note that while LMH is a city-owned hospital, it
is not funded in any way with city or county tax dollars. The hospital
is self-supporting through the services it provides. However, Lawrence
is a growing community with growing needs. The hospital requires
help in expanding programs and services to meet the needs of the
community.
LMHEAs goal is to support and enhance the services currently
offered by the Hospital and to help the hospital grow as the needs
of the community grow. The Endowment Association has aligned its
strategic plan with that of the hospital so that support for new
equipment, services and programs listed as priorities can be gained
and the hospital can continue to grow.
While the Endowment Association provides full support for these
programs, designated gifts from patients, their friends and family
members are also encouraged and needed to fund departments and services
at LMH. Without the support of these individuals, the progress at
LMH would slow and the thriving hospital of this community would
provide basic services and refer patients outside the Lawrence community.
The Endowment has found a role in supporting all of the priority
items listed by the hospital.
While the Endowment Association has successfully supported numerous
programs at the hospital, the needs continue to arise and the expense
continues to increase. While the above listed programs are those
of focus, they are not the only programs benefiting from the generosity
of individual donors like you. Patients throughout Lawrence and
the surrounding communities have gratefully benefited from programs
supported by the Endowment Association. In recent years LMHEA has
provided funding for services and equipment in the Pediatric Department,
Kreider Rehabilitation Center, Emergency Department, Maternity and
Infant Care and many others.

"Just as a family has to budget
for its own health needs, the Hospital has to budget for the community’s
health needs. The responsibility of the Endowment Association is
to remind people that we have to care for ourselves and our community,
and we need the community’s support to do that.
The work of the hospital touches everyone in the Lawrence community,
whether directly or indirectly. We as individuals, or our family,
or friends, or neighbors have received services at the hospital.
That’s why I work with the Endowment Association.
I am proud to say that when you need help, Lawrence Memorial Hospital
will be there."
