A memorial gift can be given to mark the death of a loved one, a respected friend or business colleague. A commemorative gift can be made to honor a birthday, an anniversary or any other occasion. When family members saw the palliative care room they were impressed and asked how many other rooms like this were available for patients in the hospital nearing the end of life. “It helped us make the best of a bad situation,” Martin Henry said.

The Henrys learned hospital staff had goals to furnish additional palliative care rooms and they decided to take on that goal as a memorial to Mrs. Henry. With the wonderful contributions from friends and relatives, donations began arriving at the LMHEA to honor Jeanette Henry. The amount grew to what was needed to furnish and redecorate room 315 as the hospital’s newest palliative care room.

Now LMH has three comfortable palliative care rooms to offer patients nearing the end of life.
