Elizabeth M. Watkins Wall of Honor
Would you like to make a difference in the health of our community? If so,
you’re among friends.

A giant, 12-foot by 4.5-foot, mahogany wall near the lobby of Lawrence
Memorial Hospital is a tangible tribute to those who have contributed to the
Lawrence Memorial Hospital Endowment Association.

Our community hospital is not supported by tax dollars, but rather by
charitable donations from people like you. The Elizabeth M. Watkins
Community of Caring is a lasting way to honor these generous contributors
and their gifts.

About Elizabeth Watkins
Lawrence Memorial Hospital was founded in 1921 by a group of concerned citizens to serve the health care needs of the people of Lawrence. Elizabeth Watkins, a local benefactress who wanted to ensure the health of our community in her day and in days to come, supplied funds to build the original 50-bed facility in 1929. It is fitting that the Community of Caring is named in her honor.
