LMH Endowment Association Hearts of Gold Ball

Kindness making a difference in our community

Every two years, the Hearts of Gold event brings together caring community leaders and neighbors who are committed to improving the health of Lawrence and its surrounding communities. By supporting endeavors at Lawrence Memorial Hospital that improve quality of life and advance care, donors make a meaningful impact now and in the future.

In 2018, we are dedicated to improving women’s breast health by providing comprehensive breast care services here at home, and we need your support. The 2018 Hearts of Gold Gala is an opportunity to help fund a new, state-of-the-art women’s breast center, bringing advanced breast health technology and expertise to women in our region unlike anything we’ve seen before.

The Hearts of Gold event has raised more than $1.6 million since 1999 to support vital health care services at LMH, including:

  • 2016: Renovations to the Cardiac Catheterization Lab The contributions provided more room, comfort and privacy to patients—with spaces to bring families together. Additionally, new state-of-the-art equipment lowered radiation doses for patients and hospital staff and produces higher-quality images to improve interventional diagnostics.
  • 2014: Complete overhaul of acute rehabilitation and transitional care units as part of the $4.2 million Fourth Floor Renovation Project
  • 2012: Renovations to the Second Floor Medical Unit
  • 2010: Purchase of specialized equipment for Cardiovascular Services
  • 2008: Purchase of specialized equipment for the Special Care Nursery
  • 2006: Expansion of the Emergency Department
  • 2003: Improvements to the Bob Billings Observation Unit
  • 2001: Development of Cancer Services
