LMH receives nearly $230,000 estate gift from KU librarian who died in 2014

A University of Kansas librarian, who died in June 2014, included a gift to Lawrence Memorial Hospital in her estate plans.

The estate of Ann L. Hyde, who was manuscripts librarian in the Department of Special collections at KU's Kenneth Spencer Research Library before she retired in 2000, provided $229,218 to Lawrence Memorial Hospital Endowment Association. The gift is unrestricted.

In addition to the gift to LMH Endowment Association, Hyde's estate also provided funding to 11 other groups: The Great Neck (N.Y.) Public Library; KU Endowment, to repair Spencer Research Library’s roof and if the funds are not needed specifically for that repair, they must be used for maintenance at the library; the local humane society; Kansas Advocates for Better Care of Lawrence; Douglas County Visiting Nurses Association; Lawrence Public Library; Public library of Greenfield, Mass.; Amherst (Mass.) High School Library; Douglas County Red Cross; Douglas County United Way; and Royal Air Force Museum in London.

Her gifts, which total more than $3.27 million, were specified in her will.

If you're interested in making a charitable contribution to LMH Endowment Association, please you may do so online, by using this form, or by sending a check to the association at 325 Maine Street, Lawrence, KS, 66044.
